Jimmy & Jillian are in the Spotlight!

Jimmy is 15 years old and attends Hopewell Valley Central High School.  He used to stand outside the window and watch his friend Kelly train karate.  He begged his mom until she let him start to train. He enjoys all aspects of karate and likes that is a bit different than general sports.  It is an individual sport and he is responsible to do his best. He has learned the Art of Karate and many different life lessons. He is more patient and fair.

Karate inspires him to work harder.  It has given him confidence and he has grown physically and mentally stronger. His favorite part of karate training is watching friends and other students grow, learn and improve. Jimmy is also an assistant instructor. He loves working with the kids. He has made great friends at Mercer Academy of Martial Arts.

Jillian is 12 years old and attends Timberlane Middle School.  She has been training since she was 6 years old. She started training because her brother inspired her and she wanted to do it with him. She really likes karate because each class is different and she learns new things. 
Self -Defense in the most important thing she has learned.  You never know when you might need it to get out of a situation. Karate has improved her concentration and given her perseverance to follow through when doing things. Jillian likes everything about karate and especially what she learns from grappling. She thinks more girls should take karate lessons.  It is really awesome!

They both think the instructors are amazing! Master Jones, Master DeUmberto, and the other instructors are wonderful.
Jimmy has earned the respect and admiration of the students, parents, adult students and instructors through his teaching and training.
Jillian is an excellent role model for all girls. She works hard and gives her all in everything she does.
